Senior Practice Accountant
Brighouse | Full-time | Permanent | ££ depending on experience
At Mpeople, we’re working with a well-established and growing accountancy practice in Brighouse to recruit an experienced Senior Practice Accountant.
This is a key role within the firm, suited to a confident practice accountant who enjoys managing their own client portfolio, supporting junior staff, and delivering high-quality work in a collaborative environment.
Role Outline:
You’ll take responsibility for a portfolio of SME clients while supporting the wider team with technical input and review work.
Key responsibilities include:
- Preparation and review of statutory accounts for limited companies
- Preparation of accounts for sole traders and partnerships
- Corporation tax computations and returns
- Review of VAT returns and bookkeeping work
- Managing client relationships and acting as a main point of contact
- Supporting and mentoring junior team members
- Ensuring compliance with UK accounting and tax regulations
- Working with cloud-based systems (Xero, QuickBooks, Sage)
About You:
- Strong experience within an accountancy practice
- ACA / ACCA qualified OR qualified by experience
- Confident managing a client portfolio independently
- Experience reviewing work and supporting junior staff
- Strong technical knowledge and attention to detail
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
