Senior Support Technician

Location: Leeds (Office Based with Some Travel)
Salary: £35,000 – £38,000 (depending on experience)
Type: Permanent | Full-Time
Hours: 8am–5pm or 9am–6pm
Holidays: 23 days (plus bank holidays)

We’re recruiting on behalf of a well-established and growing IT services group, looking for an experienced and driven Senior Support Technician to join their friendly and collaborative team in Leeds.

This is a fantastic opportunity to play a key role in a forward-thinking business, with exposure to both service desk escalation and project-based work across a wide range of modern IT solutions.


The Opportunity:

Primarily desk-based, this role involves providing 2nd and 3rd line support, managing technical escalations, and occasionally assisting with 1st line tasks. You’ll also work alongside the professional services team to support the delivery of client projects, offering real variety and scope for development.

Some travel to customer sites and other office locations will be required, so a full UK driving licence with business insurance is essential.


What You'll Be Doing:

  • Handling 2nd/3rd line technical support queries and escalations
  • Delivering excellent service to users both remotely and on-site
  • Supporting and maintaining infrastructure, networking, and VOIP systems
  • Collaborating with the professional services team on technical project delivery
  • Sharing knowledge and mentoring junior colleagues
  • Ensuring timely resolution of tickets in line with SLA standards

What You'll Bring:

  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a similar technical support role
  • Deep understanding of:
    • Office 365 (Intune, Exchange Online, Azure, EntraID, compliance/security policies)
    • Infrastructure: Dell/HP/Supermicro servers, SANs, RAID, Hyper-V clustering
    • Networking: VLANs, NAT, ACLs, routing, SonicWall firewalls, Unifi hardware
    • Backups: monitoring, best practices, troubleshooting
    • Windows OS: Windows 10/11, Server 2016+
    • Connectivity: line setup, fault finding
    • VOIP systems: configuring and maintaining
  • Full UK driving licence with business insurance

Desirable:

  • Linux knowledge
  • Microsoft certifications (MCP, MCSA etc.)
