Bookkeeper Supervisor – Accountancy Practice
Keighley | Full-time | Permanent | ££ depending on experience
At Mpeople, we’re working with a well-established and growing accountancy practice in Keighley to recruit an experienced Bookkeeper Supervisor.
This role would suit a senior bookkeeper who enjoys combining hands-on work with the review and supervision of others, and who is looking to take on more responsibility within a supportive practice environment.
Role Outline:
You’ll oversee the day-to-day bookkeeping function, supporting and reviewing the work of junior team members while maintaining your own client portfolio.
Key responsibilities include:
- Supervising and supporting a team of bookkeepers
- Reviewing bookkeeping work and VAT returns prior to submission
- Managing a portfolio of SME clients
- Purchase & sales ledger oversight
- Bank reconciliations
- Ensuring work is completed accurately and to deadlines
- Working with cloud-based systems (Xero, QuickBooks, Sage)
- Acting as a point of contact for clients and internal teams
About You:
- Strong bookkeeping experience, ideally within practice
- Previous experience reviewing work and supervising others
- Confident with cloud accounting software
- Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
- Comfortable managing workloads and deadlines
- A positive, supportive leadership style
