Are you a Welder Fabricator, want to work for an international manufacturing company, based at the Head Office in Bolton? You will be part of a group of companies, renowned in their industry, whose products are designed and developed at each site, innovative, environmentally forward thinking and collaborative in approach with a recognised known client base. There is an established learning and development training pathways/ packages available for all employees.   Your main function will be to produce metalwork products using a variety of techniques to defined specifications.   As part of a collaborative team approach the company encourages staff to submit ideas, to improve processes, working together to a shared company goal.    You will be rewarded with, a supportive business, great work to life balance (no weekend working).  The position is full-time, 38 hours per week, Monday to Thursday 7.30 am to 4.00 pm and Friday 7.30 am – 12.50 pm with a salary of £17,71 per hour to £20.24 per hour (£35,000 to £40,00 per annum) dependant on experience.  Occasional travel to other local sites. 

Welder Fabricator Duties:   

  • Maintain a good knowledge of new and existing products and technical specifications.   
  • Producing metalwork products working with stainless, alloys and mild steels using a variety of techniques to defined specifications working within set timescales. 
  • Supporting with design and manufacture of bespoke products. 
  • The role will involve welding using appropriate welding processes (MIG, TIG, Arc Welding etc.) 
  • Regularly inspect and maintain welding equipment to ensure optimal performance and safety. 
  • Following engineering drawing, plans and technical instructions to produce metalwork products. 
  • Cutting and forming of sheet metal, fabrication of sheet metal, pipes, and fittings. 
  • Operating tools, machinery and welding equipment. 
  • Inspection including testing welds to ensure structural soundness and identify any defects. 
  • Reporting non-conformances. 
  • Adhere to all Health and Safety and possess good housekeeping. 
  • Play a key part in a variety of manufacturing activities including continuous improvement 
  • Other duties as requested by the Manager.   

Requirements:   

  • Must have experience in a similar role in manufacturing, using Mig/TiG/ Arc techniques working with a variety of materials stainless, alloys and mild steels. 
  • Ideally you will have served an apprenticeship in Fabricating and Welding or hold, City and Guilds Level 3 in Fabricator or a Level 3 NVQ Fabricating and Welding qualification. 
  • Strong communication both written and verbal, able to build relationships, understanding of working in fast paced environments. 
  • Demonstrable skills in reading and interpreting technical drawings  
  • Ability to prioritise and adapt to change, whilst able to understand process or continuous improvement.     
  • Required ability to work to deadlines, targets and SLAS.     
  • Team player, hands on approach with a positive attitude to learning and can work collaboratively.
