We are excited to present a fantastic opportunity for a Permanent Transport Planner to join a reputable client based in South Leeds,

Duties and experience to include:

  • Develop and implement transport plans to improve efficiency and service delivery.
  • Coordinate with suppliers and stakeholders to ensure all transport operations run smoothly.
  • Analyze transport data to identify areas for improvement and cost savings.
  • Manage logistics schedules, ensuring timely deliveries and compliance with regulations.
  • Support the team in addressing any operational issues and providing effective solutions.
  • Taking calls from both prospective and existing clients to quote and service all their requirements.
  • Converting quotes to jobs by proactively following up on quotes.
  • Relationship building with clients.
  • Log email jobs onto the transport system that have come in directly from the clients.
  • Work with the other controllers/planners to allocate the jobs through to drivers on the DA systems transport App.
  • Monitor drivers on routes and deal with all enquiries and queries relating to their deliveries and delays etc.
  • Work with both self employed and PAYE drivers to ensure maximum delivery criteria is met.
  • Other admin elements to price and push each job through to the admin department.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a team.
  • Strong communication skills to liaise with various stakeholders and team members.
  • Proactive approach to identifying efficiencies and enhancing logistics operations.
  • Flexibility to work standard hours (Monday - Friday, 8-5 / 9-6) with on-call requirements, approximately one weekend every six weeks.
