Purchasing / Stock Control Manager
Responsibilities include:
Purchasing
- Working with the directors to produce a strategic purchasing plan for the next two years.
- Monitoring the objectives set within the plan and reporting against these monthly.
- Proactively managing and leveraging relationships with Suppliers in UK and Overseas.
- Negotiating prices, lead times and stock holding.
- Being responsible for negotiation of supplier agreements including rebates.
- Identify new suppliers and evaluating the viability of using them for future business.
- Formulate supply chain improvements on an ongoing basis.
Stock Control
Oversee the raising and expediting of Purchase Orders and Works Orders
- Liaising with suppliers to resolve non-conformance issues
- Maintaining stock related data into the company Sage 1000 ERP system
- Working with the business I.T systems to establish stock requirements
- Producing various management information that will enable the business to manage its stock in a more efficient way.
- Liaising with suppliers and freight forwarders for imported goods
- Managing stock levels in line with budgets and seasonal demands
The Person
- Minimum 5 years in a busy Purchasing / Supply Chain role
- Experience of Import / Far East supply chain
- Strong numerical and analytical skills
- Practical experience with Microsoft Excel essential (Queries, Vlookups, Pivot Tables)
- Ability to work under own initiative and to manage others
- A clear and concise communicator
