Sales Account Manager

Mpeople Recruitment are currently seeking an enthusiastic and confident Sales Account Manager on behalf of our client who are a reputable and thriving manufacturing logistics provider based in Rochdale.

  • Location: Rochdale (OL16)
  • Hours of work: 08:30 – 17:30, Monday to Friday (some flexibility on hours)
  • Salary: Between £20,000 and £24,000 dependent on experience
  • Benefits: 27 days holiday plus bank holidays, quarterly bonuses with the potential to earn up to 15% of your salary per annum, advanced company pension, and free parking

The Account Manager will develop sales opportunities through developing strong and effective working relationships with both existing and potential customers. 

Duties will include but not be limited to:

  • Maintain strong customer relationships
  • Targeted outbound telesales activity to develop opportunities (around 20% of the job role)
  • Generating new account opportunities of which includes customer data information (with existing business and new business)
  • Gain customer feedback with a view to improving service and maintaining good working relationships
  • New customer account forms and relevant internal documentation are complete and accurate
  • Dealing with all sales queries
  • Produce monthly sales reports
  • Raising quotations and tariff recommendations
  • Following up and negotiating sales quotations
  • Promoting and upselling the full range of business services to the customer
  • Co-ordinating effective sales campaigns and support the activities specified in the sales plan
  • Developing a customer database and maintaining up to date records on the CIS (CRM tool)
  • Focus to achieve set quarterly and annual sales targets and KPIs
  • Accurately record results from activities
  • Attend client visits and promotional events
  • Liaise and network with customers, suppliers, colleagues and partner organisations
  • Increase productivity by applying automatic processes within the department and with the customer

The required traits, skills, and background:

  • Excellent communication and rapport building skills (written and verbal)
  • Self-confidence in being able to make outbound phone calls and build relationships with potential new business stakeholders
  • Excellent problem-solving and analysis skills
  • Attention to detail and high levels of accuracy
  • Adaptable and willing to learn
  • Self-motivated and able to use own initiative to manage your own workload
  • Experience within the logistics or transport sector would be advantageous, but is not essential
  • Geographical knowledge of Europe would also be advantageous but is not essential
