Are you a QC Laboratory Technician looking to work in a well-established award-winning internationally operating manufacturing company in Standish? Due to growth the company is now expanding their team. Your main function will be the day to day quality of goods entering or leaving the company.  You will be rewarded with an employer that are Investors in staff training, current technology. Hours are 36 per week, Friday to Sunday 6.00 am to 6.00 pm, with a salary of £17.21 per hour (£32,217 per annum). During your first 12 weeks of employment, you will be on a 12-week training course 48 hours per week carried out weekdays Monday to Thursday 48 hours per week. 

QC Laboratory Technician Duties:   

  • To accurately complete all necessary documentation in a timely manner.   
  • Provide suitable data for transfer purposes.  
  • Ensure the timely completion of product testing in process and final analysis/ Specification. 
  • Issue of accurate process adjustment instructions to production 
  • Complete Inspection and test procedures, as specified in the product manufacturing instructions, and complete the respective quality documents promptly. 
  • Record all process information regularly and clearly to allow review and generation of commercial process instructions  
  • Testing incoming materials as required. 
  • Carry out procedures relevant to the test equipment calibration schedule. 
  • Carry out test method training for operators and other assigned duties. 
  • Preparation of laboratory samples and prepare samples for dispatch.  
  • Record all process information regularly and clearly to allow review and generation of commercial process instructions  
  • Calibration of equipment.   
  • Immediately report any incident the management must address using the appropriate reporting systems in place.  
  • Ensure that all duties/activities associated with the quality control department comply with Health, Safety, Environment and Quality management systems.  
  • Carry out project/development when assigned. 
  • Identify no-conforming material or process operations and take action to arrange for re-processing, usage under concession or safe disposal of non-conforming material/product and the completing of corresponding quality records 
  • To inform the Senior QC Chemist or QC Lab Manager immediately of any abnormal situation which cannot be dealt with successfully 
  • To authorise changes in product specifications, formulas, and manufacturing instructions. 
  • Liaise with Senior Chemist, QC Lab Manager/ Or Managing Director for technical matters and concerns. 

QC Laboratory Technician Requirements:    

  • Previous experience of working in a busy lab environment, with an understanding of chemical processes is essential.  
  • The ideal candidate will have the Ability to follow chemistry testing techniques, understanding of sampling and product testing, calibration and good housekeeping.  
  • Must hold a BTEC / HNC in Chemistry (or equivalent Level 4 qualification in chemistry)   
  • Internal auditing experience is desirable, however, not essential.   
  • Ideally working in a chemical / process type industry (COMAH site) would be advantageous.  
  • Familiar with management systems 9001, 14001 & 45001 is advantageous along with IOSH Managing Safely.  
  • IT literate in Microsoft Office Packages Word, Excel, Outlook   
  • Strong communication both written and verbal, able to build relationships, understanding of working in fast paced environments with the ability to prioritise and adapt to change, whilst able to understand process or continuous improvement.         
  • Model and promote an organisational culture that fosters safety through effective leadership.    
  • Team player, hands on approach with a positive attitude to learning and can work collaboratively.
