Mpeople Recruitment are currently seeking an enthusiastic and hard-working Purchasing Coordinator on behalf of our well-established and reputable client based in Hyde.

  • Office Hours: 9am – 5pm, Monday to Friday
  • Location: Hyde
  • Salary: £26,000 - £30,000

Duties will include but not be limited to:

  • Managing, checking and Processing of Purchase orders including internal purchases
  • Overall Stock Management for the purchasing team including forecasting/stock checks/stock transfers/managing overstocks, surplus/discontinued lines/customer specific stock and warehouse capacity
  • Negotiating prices, delivery dates and minimum order quantities
  • Proactively researching for new suppliers, identifying products to bring to market via internet, leads & exhibitions
  • Organising and seeking out competitive prices on hauliers – also costing up products inclusive of freight/haulier charges
  • Ability to identify lines that are overperforming and action any price negotiations
  • Setting up products on the system
  • Ensuring all data and prices are kept up to date
  • Produce monthly reports and presenting in management meetings
  • Action and attend internal meetings across departments
  • Supporting the sales team on new product development & researching potential sales
  • Taking incoming purchasing calls
  • Resolving any Invoice queries
  • Booking in/planning deliveries and communicating to other departments any issues
  • Relationship building with Suppliers by phone, email and in meetings

The right candidate for this Purchasing / Buying role will:

  • Have previous experience within a Purchasing / Buying role (minimum 4 years)
  • Have experience within the packaging industry would be desirable
  • Have experience using SAGE 50 would be desirable
  • Be a confident communicator that can build and manage working relationships with business stakeholders
  • Have effective negotiation skills
  • Be organised whilst having great time management and forward planning skills
  • Have the ability to problem-solve and take initiative
  • Be capable of reacting to a change in demands and adapt their workload efficiently
