Project / Resource Coordinator – Bolton (On-Site)

Salary: £28,000 – £32,000 DOE


About the Role

We are seeking a motivated and well-organised Project / Resource Coordinator to join our Bolton office. In this role, you’ll take ownership of scheduling and allocating engineering staff across both service and project teams, ensuring work is delivered efficiently and aligned with business priorities.

You’ll act as the central link between operations, project delivery, and support, managing availability, certifications, and subcontractor engagement to keep everything running smoothly.


Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain and update the central scheduling calendar for engineers across service and project teams.
  • Allocate engineers to jobs based on skills, certifications, and availability, ensuring effective utilisation of resources.
  • Liaise with operations, service desk, and project managers to balance workloads and cover requirements.
  • Monitor engineer availability, leave, and absences to highlight any shortfall or spare capacity.
  • Manage subcontractor relationships, keeping records current and arranging additional support when required.
  • Support long-term planning and forecasting in line with project pipelines and service commitments.
  • Track compliance of training, accreditations, and certifications to ensure readiness for assignments.
  • Review timesheets and utilisation reports, escalating issues where necessary.
  • Organise out-of-hours cover in collaboration with the Service Desk Manager.
  • Assist with onboarding of new engineers and subcontractors, ensuring schedules and documentation are prepared.
  • Act as the first point of contact for scheduling queries, maintaining clear communication across stakeholders.

Skills & Experience

Essential:

  • Experience in scheduling, planning, or operational coordination, ideally in a technical or service-led environment.
  • Strong organisational skills, able to handle multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • Clear and confident communicator, able to build relationships across teams and with external providers.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) and scheduling software.
  • Attention to detail with accurate record-keeping.
  • Adaptable and able to work effectively under pressure.

Desirable:

  • Knowledge of engineering or technical services industries.
  • Understanding of workforce planning and resource management best practices.
  • Experience liaising with subcontractors or third-party providers.
  • Awareness of compliance and certification tracking processes.
