You will be responsible for the day to day running of the Company’s manufacturing operations, ensure effective and efficient use of the company production resources, achieving fulfillment on time and in full of the company's delivery commitments. Salary is £40,000 -£45,000 Dependent on experience.
Production Manager Duties:
- Delivery of all product testing services, ensuring that all customer orders meet the required quality standards, and that all product testing is documented using the company's IT-based system in compliance with its Quality Management System.
- Team Leadership: Organise and manage production staff rotas to ensure optimal staffing levels and productivity.
- Develop continuous improvement in the avoidance and management of production downtime or production scheduling issues by leading multi-disciplinary debriefs after each significant issue
- Oversee team discipline, training, and morale, working closely with senior management.
- Daily Operations, provide hands-on support in the day-to-day running of the production department. Compliance & Health & Safety
- Ensure that performance to plan is monitored and achieved and where delays are identified, these are communicated in a timely manner and appropriate actions taken to recover the schedule.
- Drive and embed accountability in self and others accountable for performance in terms of safety, quality, customer service and cost
- Communicate performance indicators to all members of staff within the Production team and develop plans for continuous improvement.
- Drive efficiency and productivity in every aspect of the Production Department; people / process / equipment.
- Review factory efficiency and make any changes necessary to improve them.
- Leadership and inspiration of the production team to achieve the robust delivery of a consistent perfect product for customers, aiming for zero waste and 100% achievement of quality standards
- Optimal and measurable utilisation of resources to support the efficiency and cost KPIs in company growth plan.
- Attending daily, weekly, production meetings, performance reporting: Provide detailed data and performance reports to the MD and other key stakeholders, offering insights for continuous improvement.
- Maintain high levels of inter-department communications.
- Drive a high level of Health and Safety awareness and ways of working across the Team.
- Training & Induction: Oversee the onboarding and training of new staff. Maintain and coordinate the training matrix across departments.
- Build and sustain an environment and culture of safety, quality, and Customer satisfaction.
- Achieve departmental key performance indicators to drive safety, cost, quality, delivery and service measures / targets.
- Maintenance of professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; benchmarking state-of-the-art practices; participating in professional societies as appropriate.
Production Manager Requirements:
- Must have proven experience as a Production Manager or Supervisor, or Team Leader, ideally in manufacturing, engineering background
- Required Knowledge of working to IS9001 standards, an understanding of AS 9100 D and ATEX-UK QAN would be advantageous.
- A relevant qualification in management would be an advantage but is not essential.
- Demonstrated success in leading teams, improving productivity, and optimising workflows.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills, with a strong focus on collaboration.
- Proven track record of meeting relevant company targets.
- Supervised a team, along with delegating and prioritising workloads daily, conduct staff one to ones, personal development plans and training is essential
- Strong communicator able to delegate in writing as well as face to face interactions with the team.
- Must be IT Literate in Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, knowledge of Pegasus Opera ERP Would be Advantageous.
