Mpeople Recruitment are currently seeking a committed and thorough Production & Stock Controller on behalf of our client who are a well-established Manufacturing business in Chadderton, Oldham.

  • Location: Chadderton, Oldham (OL9)
  • Hours of work: 6am/6.45am – 4.15pm/5pm Monday to Thursday OR 8am – 4.30pm Monday to Friday
  • Salary: Between £24,000 and £28,000 dependent on experience

The Stock & Production Controller will work closely with the Operations Director in order to support the day to day running of our client’s factory and warehouse. For this role you will need to be good with time management, have an eye for detail and maintain accuracy whilst working to tight deadlines. In the absence of the Operations Director, this person will need to supervise and ensure the smooth running of the production area.

There is a chance this position could progress into a managerial position depending on current experience and/or completion of further education in related fields.

Duties will include but not be limited to:

  • The overall purpose to ensure that all administration functions are completed to a high standard.
  • Keep on top of arranging for servicing and inspection of: Machinery, Vehicles etc
  • Arranging staff training courses: Forklift truck, IOSH, H&S, CSCS, Lifting, First Aid etc
  • Creating works orders & updating the production schedule
  • Monitoring stock of materials and raising purchase orders
  • Updating Bill of Materials
  • Auditing our systems to meet with ISO standards
  • Providing administrative assistance, ensuring that all records, reports, and statements are accurate and updated as necessary and held securely.

The required traits, skills, and background:

  • Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Packages
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to multitask.
  • Prior experience of working in an Administrative role in an Engineering or Manufacturing Environment
  • Ability to prioritise own workload.
  • Outstanding communication skills, adept at dealing with production workers & Suppliers.
  • Previous experience of ISO-9001 auditing preferred, but not essential
  • Previous experience of H&S IOSH preferred, but not essential
  • Previous experience of working as part of a team
  • Basic clerical skills such as filing, photocopying, scanning, etc.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
