Mpeople recruitment are recruiting on behalf of our client who are a extremely well established manufacturing business based in Royton for a Pensions & Payroll Administrator.

Role: Payroll Specialist

Salary: £30,000 – 3-6 months contract with the possibility to be extended.

Hours: Monday – Thursday 9am – 5pm (30mins for lunch) & Friday – 9am – 4:30 (30mins for lunch)

Position Summary:

This role will be responsible for processing the monthly payroll and deal with payroll and pension queries.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Administering Weekly / Monthly Payrolls with 100 associates.
  • Complete end-to-end payroll process and reconciliation are from Time & Attendance inputs to Net Pay.  Including any clocking exceptions that are dealt with daily.  
  • Defined Contribution Auto Enrolment compliance.
  • Period end & yearend processing and analysis (inc P11’ds & P60’s)
  • Calculating and recording the statutory payments and deductions
  • Attachment of earnings processing
  • Investigating payroll inquiries, providing assistance and advice to staff and external bodies.
  • Leavers and new starters processing
  • Undertaking calculations relating to payroll queries, overpayments, and underpayments,
  • Prepare various payroll reports.
  • Ability to manually calculate payroll tax, SSP, SMP, Company sick leave
  • Distributing payslips
  • Pension Administration –  Defined Benefit Scheme, New Pension Starters, Leavers, administration in line with Pension rules.  Liaison between associates and external administrators.  Pensions monthly reporting and Y/E reporting to all required bodies, eg Administrator, HMRC, Associates.

Job Requirements:

  • GCSE’s or equivalent in Maths and English
  • Experience of working in a SOX environment advantage but not essential.
  • Must have 5 years experience running end to end payroll process
  • Excel/Pivot table experience essential
  • SAP experience is desirable but not essential
  • Accurate data entry – aim 100% payroll accuracy
  • High level of interpersonal skills
  • Customer-orientated approach
  • Self-motivated and able to meet deadlines without direct, daily supervision.
  • Able to prioritise workload to meet key processing deadlines.
  • Ability to work on own initiative and as part of a team.
  • Demonstrable ability to solve queries
  • Excellent attention to detail, numerate, and take pride in your work.
  • Able to work effectively under pressure.
  • Flexible and able to demonstrate lots of initiative and a proactive approach to work.
  • Excellent communication skills at all levels of the business.
