Mpeople recruitment have a fantastic opportunity for a Lead Engineer to join a well-established and growing Engineering business based in Oldham. Salary £28,000 - £30,000 plus O/T and bonuses, Hours Monday to Thursday 8am – 5pm, Friday 8.00 am – 2.00pm.
Lead Engineer Duties:
- Planning and monitoring work within the workshop, supervising staff, ensure all required dates are met.
- Undertake Supervision of manufacturing tasks and progress chase to ensure weekly/monthly production targets are met.
- Project lead planning and understand bespoke/ modification requirements, BOM, schedule, parts List, reading drawings, conversion of metric and imperial figures and implement effectively through entire process.
- Supervising the manufacturing and assembly jobs to OTIF standards.
- Reports on workloads, participating in project reviews and giving advice to Managers.
- Ensure that the workshop maximises its capacity to meet monthly KPIS on value/unit numbers completed, to ensure efficiencies and return on investment.
- Required offsite field service visits on occasion.
- Maintaining material, COSHH, H & S, Test, Method records for all projects completed in the workshop.
- Mentoring of workshop personnel who are undertaking the ILM scheme.
- Quality Control-QC of all products that leaves the workshop.
- Responsible for the quality of the work carried out by the workshop and perform incoming and outgoing inspections on all parts, modifications, equipment, and assemblies.
- Responsible for maintaining safe work practices, keeping COSHH information up to date and ensuring staff is conversant and compliant.
Lead Engineer Requirements:
- Multi skilled in both electrical and mechanical disciplines with relevant experience in automation or complex MHE.
- Required must hold current driving licence as occasional work out in the field required.
- Capable of diagnostic, modifications work on unfamiliar equipment with limited technical reference documents and work to high quality standards.
- Solid foundational knowledge of PLC based controls systems.
- Understand bespoke/ modification requirements, BOM, schedule, parts List, reading drawings, conversion of metric and imperial figures.
- Knowledge of Statutory Compliance requirements.
- Must have experience in managing teams and create a positive working environment.
- Have excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Possess the ability to manage detail, establish root cause and be able to extract and demonstrate effective problem-solving and analytical capability.
