HR Manager

Normanton

£40,000 - £45,000

Our client a leader within their field are seeking a HR Manager to join their team due to business growth. They are located in Normanton with free onsite parking and great transport links making them ideally located for candidates from Leeds, Wakefield, Normanton, Castleford, Dewsbury and surrounding areas. You will be managing and guiding the HR department of the organisation, including overseeing processes and policies to make sure they are fair for all employees, and advising directors on employment law and other HR related matters.

The Benefits

  • £40,000 - £45,000 salary
  • 22 days holiday plus bank holidays
  • Monday - Friday, 08:00 - 17:00

The main responsibilities of the HR Manager are:

  • Developing and implementing HR strategies and initiatives aligned with the overall business strategy
  • Developing and implementing new processes to help the organisation offer a better workplace for staff
  • Bridging management and employee relations by addressing demands, grievances or other issues
  • Generating reports and data to quantify performance and skills
  • Responsible for recruiting and staffing, such as sitting in on interviews
  • Responsible for writing job descriptions to attract quality candidates
  • Managing performance of current employees
  • Responsible for contracts, probationary letters and onboarding new starters
  • Responsible for employee disciplinary’s and Grievances
  • Overseeing and scheduling employee counselling and other services
  • Overseeing compliance requirements
  • Responsible for arranging exit interviews
  • Following up on performance concerns and disciplinary action with staff members
  • Other HR and ad hoc duties

 

The ideal HR Manager would meet the following criteria

  • CIPD Level 7 (Desirable)
  • Previous HR Manager experience
  • A confident and assertive manner
  • An approachable and compassionate nature
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • An awareness of equal opportunities and health and safety issues
  • Good leadership and management skills
  • A fair and objective approach to all personnel and working situations
  • Excellent organisational abilities
  • The ability to stay calm in busy and stressful situations
  • The ability to handle disciplinary issues appropriately
  • Good computer skills
