Are you a Field Service Engineer looking to work for a well-established company who have multiple sites throughout the UK?   You will work out of the Thornbury depot based upto one hour commute from site, where your main function will be to carry service calls, to install, commission, maintain, service and repair compressed air and vacuum equipment, including PSSR examinations across the South West, South East and South. You be rewarded with ongoing training, advanced career opportunities, flexible working and Christmas shutdown.  Salary £38,000 - £42,000 dependent on experience plus bonus, company van, mobile and tablet. The hours are 40 per week, 8.30 am to 5.00 pm with some flexibility. Monday to Thursday and 8.30 am to 4.30 pm on Friday. You will be on call 1-7 on the company's 24 hour callout rota. 

Field Service Engineer Duties:   

  • Carry out servicing/commissioning/repair of compressed air and vacuum equipment to the required standard either on site or in the workshop. 
  • Generate sales enquires by identifying any faults or improvements to a customer’s compressed air system. 
  • Ensure that the appropriate spares are taken to site to complete the above on a first fix basis. 
  • To maintain that all maintenance, service and repairs are carried out to customer’s satisfaction. 
  • Planned and Preventative Maintenance along with assisting on breakdowns. 
  • Consistency in looking for ways to deliver continuous improvement. 
  • Maintain and develop customer relationships. 
  • To react to and where possible solve customer complaints.   
  • Utilises company systems, methods, and processes to ensure delivery within agreed time, utilising time in the most effective and appropriate manner. 
  • Maintain Health and Safety procedures at all time, promote good house keeping either on-site or in the workshop. 
  • Report any incident as per the company protocol.   
  • To update and maintain all company related communications - written, verbal or electronic are completed in a timely manner. 
  • Attend company training as and when required. 

Requirements:   

  • Required qualified upto HNC level in Mechanical Engineering or completed a time served apprenticeship in Electro/Mechanical Engineering.   
  • Ideally, we are looking for someone who has previous experience in a field based position previously 
  • PLC awareness/functional understanding is essential. 
  • The candidate we are looking for will have a knowledge of rotating equipment, Compressor and vacuum plant maintenance preferred.  
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office applications, in Excel, and Word and Outlook, SAP would be advantageous.     
  • Strong communication both written and verbal, able to build relationships, understanding of working in fast paced environments with the ability to prioritise and adapt to change, whilst able to understand process or continuous improvement.     
  • Required ability to work to deadlines, targets and SLAS.     
  • Team player, hands on approach with a positive attitude to learning and can work collaboratively.
