Job Title: Customer Service Advisor

Location: Burnley Area
Job Type: Temporary – 6 Months (with potential for review/extension)
Working Hours: Monday to Friday, between 8:30 AM – 5:30 PM (37.5 hours/week)
Hourly Pay:

  • £12.21 per hour (Pre-AWR – up to 12 weeks)

  • £13.23 per hour (Post-AWR – after 13 weeks)


Role Overview:

We are currently recruiting for a Customer Service Advisor to join a reputable organisation based in the Burnley area on a 6-month temporary contract. The successful candidate will be the first point of contact for customers, supporting a range of inbound technical queries, processing information, and offering high-quality service.

Please note: The successful candidate will be required to undergo a DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) check as part of the compliance process.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Receive inbound calls and respond to technical and service enquiries

  • Provide professional advice and guidance to customers

  • Take secure payments over the phone

  • Update customer records using an internal bespoke CRM system

  • Contact customers regarding alerts or account activity

  • Monitor device statuses and help resolve malfunctions

  • Carry out secure customer verification and identity checks

  • Prepare and send personalised communications in full GDPR compliance

  • Manage expectations through clear and professional communication

  • Support internal reporting for team leaders and managers

  • Accurately close down system alerts

  • Perform other duties as required by the line manager


Key Skills & Experience Required:

  • Experience in a customer service or service delivery environment is essential

  • Strong IT skills, including CRM/database systems and Microsoft Office

  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy

  • Calm and effective under pressure

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Professional, proactive, and flexible attitude

  • Able to prioritise tasks and meet tight deadlines

  • Confident in dealing with a wide range of customer scenarios

  • Must be willing and eligible to undergo a DBS check
