Are you a CNC Turner looking to work in a well-established family run precision Engineering company involved in several products and industries, machining Aluminium, Stainless Steel, Mild Steels, Brass and various Plastics? Due to growth the company is now expanding their team, your main function is Operating a CNC Centre Lathe, setting, programming and operating a Proturn Lathe (XYZ Proturn software) with ProtoTRAK control, to produce small components. You will be rewarded with an employer that are Investors in staff training, current technology, offering a good work to life balance. Hours Monday to Thursday 7.45 am to 4.45 pm, Friday 7.45 am to 12.30 pm, 39 hours per week salary is £27,154.92 -£34,000 overtime is paid at time plus half. Proturn experience is preferred but training can be given.  

CNC Turner Duties: 

  • Produce machined parts according to established parameters and specifications. 
  • Calibrate all machines to their correct operating levels. 
  • Programming, setting and operating a Proturn Lathe - For the lathe we use XYZ Proturn software 
  • Translate the requirements of detailed part drawings into measurements for production in both metric and imperial and use appropriate measuring tools. 
  • Inspecting workflows to ensure that technical and quality standards are met as outline by the company protocols. 
  • Carrying out basic machine maintenance on machine tools 
  • Good housekeeping of work area adhering to company Health and Safety portocols. 
  • Support other areas of the business as and when required. 

CNC Requirements: 

  • Required experience of operating a CNC Centre Lathe. 
  • Must be able to understand engineer technical drawings in both metric and imperial along with the use of measuring tools. 
  • Training could be given if required however, Proturn XYZ experience is preferred. 
  • Strong communication both written and verbal, able to build relationships, understanding of working in fast paced environments with the ability to prioritise and adapt to change, whilst able to understand process or continuous improvement.       
  • Team player, hands on approach with a positive attitude to learning and can work collaboratively.
