Job Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented Assistant Cashier to join our accounts team at our Leeds city centre Head Office. While financial or legal experience is not required, the ideal candidate will have a keen interest in working within an accounts function in a legal setting. This role requires strong attention to detail, organisational skills, and the ability to meet deadlines efficiently.
Key Responsibilities
- Assisting with the processing of financial transactions for the firm
- Updating office, client, and nominal account ledgers daily
- Checking and inputting bill data
- Processing incoming and outgoing electronic payments and maintaining accurate records
- Handling both internal and external calls, including processing card payments
- Performing daily banking duties
- Raising cheques as per fee earners' or support staff instructions
- Managing petty cash and processing expenses
- Assisting and providing cover for other team members in the Accounts and Cashiers department
- Ensuring compliance with SRA Accounts Rules, HMRC regulations, and other legal requirements
- Contributing to the maintenance and improvement of office and accounts procedures
- Undertaking any other duties required by the firm
