Are you a Stock Controller who wants to take the next step in your career? You will be working with parts and specialist materials, your day to day will be to maintain parts levels and specialist materials alongside assistance in purchasing with some staff supervision.  The company is a group in a period of expansion, and you will be based at the Oldham head office. They are a supportive employer, offering a good benefit package, great work to life balance with a large client base both locally and nationally and are an innovator in their industry. Hours are Monday to Thursday 08.00 am to 5.00 pm with Friday 8.00 am to 2.00 pm – Salary is £22,000 -£26,000. 

Stock Controller Duties: 

  • Quality assurance of all goods in, reporting and managing the quality and suitability of goods in.  Reporting issues to the suppliers and resolving supply chain issues. 
  • Managing the stock levels that ensure the efficient supply of parts both to our workshop and customers.   
  • Continuous review of stock levels reporting concerns to the Operations Supervisor.  
  • Liaising with technical support to ensure customers’ queries are dealt with fully and efficiently.  
  • Being a key player in the company’s initiative to drive down costs by continually reviewing spending on regular ancillary orders, sourcing better value deals whenever possible. 
  • Maximise the sales of parts by initiating and using promotions, on-line media, sales shots etc. 
  • Supervising and/or personally loading and unloading of trucks and containers using either the FLT, or by following the manual handling protocol. 
  • Ensuring that all relevant data on in house systems is up to date and accurate.   
  • Contribute to the continual improvement process through the suggestion of initiatives and implementation of agreed changes. 
  • Hold regular meetings with the Technical Support/Operations Supervisor on stock levels. 
  • Continuous review of stock levels reporting concerns to the Operations Supervisor.  
  • Mentoring and coaching their peers in their own role (SOIP) so as to provide cover for annual leave. 

Stock Controller Requirements: 

  • Required 3 years' experience in a similar role essential, with a knowledge of manual handling equipment would be advantageous along with an understanding of technical parts and specialist materials – Training will be given. 
  • You will need to be numerate, have good problem-solving skills with excellent communication both written and verbal.   
  • Required, completely computer literate in Microsoft Office applications, Outlook, Excel, and Word in-house CRM systems the current CRM is Protean however training will be provided  
  • Must have good relationship building skills and the ability to build rapport quickly.   
  • High attention to detail, with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment whilst prioritising workloads.      
  • It Computer literate in Microsoft Office applications, Outlook, Excel, and Word in-house systems.
