Mpeople recruitment have a fantastic opportunity for a Purchase / Production Administrator to join a growing engineering company based in Heywood on a full time, permanent basis.

Role: Purchase / Production Administrator

Location: Heywood

Salary: £20,00 to £30,000 DOE

Hours: 8am – 4pm or 7am – 3pm (client is flexible)

The successful candidate will have an inquisitive mind and be someone that is keen to recommend process improvements and is always looking for more efficient ways of working.

Duties:

  • Help develop the companies own LEAN framework
  • Help implement 5S steps
  • Review production plans
  • Develop inventory control techniques to avoid shortages and expenses
  • Set up stock levels for high turnover parts
  • Liaise with suppliers to ensure you are getting competitive prices while maintaining the quality standards
  • Assist in processing customer orders and shipments according to the established schedule
  • Review job orders and accordingly establish priorities and schedules using products planning software
  • Monitor execution of job orders and adjust schedules on a day to day basis
  • Contribute to overall business strategy and create and implement a manufacturing vision and strategy
  • Work with cross-functional teams to complete job orders on-time and within customer specifications

Skills & Experience required:

  • Good communication skills in order to communicate production updates to managers and suppliers on a regular basis
  • Microsoft excel skills
  • Experience in ordering progress chasing and production planning
  • Experience working in a LEAN manufacturing environment would be preferrable, however full training will be provided
  • Experience within a manufacturing environment
  • Experience implementing new ideas into a manufacturing business to improve efficiencies, reduce waste and increase profit
  • An understanding of manufacturing processes
  • Strong computer literacy in all Microsoft office applications
  • Ambition to ensure team progress
  • Demonstrate a good working knowledge of implementing projects
