Mpeople are recruiting for an experienced Ocean Export Operations Co-ordinator required to work with one of the UK's leading multimodal forwarders and logistics organisation.

Main purpose of the role:

To process and administer all Ocean shipments, complying with all necessary controls, HMC formalities and procedures, whilst maintaining a high standard of customer care at all times.

 

Main tasks and responsibilities:

Offer a high standard of customer service to both internal and external customers, by providing accurate and appropriate information and demonstrating a professional, helpful and positive manner.

Continue to upkeep good relationships with agents and carriers, as well as developing new links to gain additional profitability for the branch where required.

Collate all the necessary information, to ensure all jobs are correctly and accurately processed and profitably charged out.

Keep control of jobs, through effective liaison with colleagues, customers, overseas correspondents, and shipping lines and ‘order progressing’ when required.

Contribute to departmental revenue, through maximising load profitability, internal sales and promoting additional services offered by the Company.

Provide quotations for customers as required, maximising shipment profitability.

Efficiently and effectively plan loads and groupage to ensure all cargo is shipped on booked vessel, achieves maximum profit, and work with other branches to consolidate loads where necessary.

Demonstrate a knowledge and understanding of Customs regulations and Dangerous Goods rules, adhere to these procedures and be capable of providing advice on these and specific Country requirements to customers when necessary.

Administer jobs in accordance with the Company’s accounting procedures.

Review Customer’s credit ratings with Supervisor/Manager and Credit control team, as necessary.

Ensure collection of import duty/vat in line with Company policy, where applicable.

To alert the Manager/Supervisor of any pending claims and collate information to process any claims promptly and professionally, in accordance with Company procedures.

Work closely with internal and external Warehouse Teams to ensure loading instructions are adhered to.

Deal with any communication into and out of the department in a customer focused professional manner.

Build and maintain effective business relationships with colleagues throughout the business.

Ensure that all activities operate within Davies Turner policies and procedures and to demonstrate a commitment to these through their own working practices.

Documentation, records and systems are accurate and kept up to date.

Prepare and present information for the Davies Turner management team as required.

Comply with the Health and Safety statement and the Q.I procedures in all areas of responsibility.

Carry out such other duties as are within the scope and spirit of the job purpose and level of responsibility and offer support to other departments when required.
