Are you a HSE Compliance Manager looking to work in an award-winning company? Mpeople are currently working with a large manufacturing company based in Wigan that operates internationally, due to growth they are expanding and require a HSE Compliance Manager. The company offers excellent work to life balance, a well-established client base, advanced career opportunities, ongoing training, and supportive colleagues.   Salary £35,000 - £40,000, Hours Monday to Friday 8.00 am to 4.00 pm.   

HSE Compliance Manager Requirements:   

  • HSE duties around the safety and environmental complaint operations of the facility, completion, and communication of any required documentation to any third party [or interested party. 
  • Required to keep up to date with legislation and industry best practice and prepare, communicate changes highlighting any risk or operations requirements. 
  • To assist the Process Safety team in process hazard assessments (PHA), including HAZID, HAZOP, LOPA, HFA, and the development of ALARP demonstrations, as required under COMAH. 
  • To act as Fire Officer for the site, and to ensure site fire risk assessments are up to date and necessary control measures are implemented, monitored and reviewed. 
  • Management and Implementation of the Major Accident Policy Plan [MAPP]. 
  • Organise all required EHS training programmes for relevant site personnel, including Process Safety training where relevant.  
  • Develop, implement, and manage regulations under the health and safety at work act 1974 safety programs (Confined Space Entry, LOTO, Safe Isolation of plant, Hazard Communication, Hazard Waste Management, Emergency Response, Protection, Respiratory Protection, Hearing Conservation, etc.) to ensure compliance with applicable health and safety standards. 
  • Required to keep up to date with legislation and industry best practice and prepare, communicate changes highlighting any risk or operations requirements. 
  • Provide information to all staff, coordinate the site competence management system as it pertains to the management of major accident hazards, including critical task analysis. 
  • Delivery of Health, Safety, Environment and Quality best practice across the business, ensuring compliance with current legislation and company standards.  
  • Review and development of risk assessments and method statements.  
  • Acknowledge, Investigate, and resolve Non-conformance.  
  • Implementation, communication, and Review of Audit requirements both internal and external and update all documentation. 
  • Support Internal Audit programme by completing site audits.  

HSE Compliance Manager Requirements:   

  • Required Supervisory/ Management qualification (ILM, NEBS), NEBOSH Level 3 Certificate, IOSH Managing Safely.  
  • Required minimum of 3 years regulatory experience in a chemical industry and worked on COMAH site. Knowledge of Lead Auditor 45001, 18001 (9001). 
  • Have good problem-solving skills with excellent communication both written and verbal.   
  • High attention to detail, with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment whilst prioritising workloads.    
  • Computer literate in Microsoft Office applications, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.    
  • Ability to work to deadlines, targets and have knowledge of regulatory guidelines and legislation.
