HR Manager

Dewsbury

C£45K depending on experience

MAIN PURPOSE:

Our client is seeking experienced HR Manager with experience within manufacturing, you will be supporting the business in delivering employee related processes, to encompass staff wellbeing, policies, procedures, and guidance. Striving to deliver strategic objectives in supporting the Head of People & Culture in relation to all HR aspects within the business to make continued improvements. Supporting employees to improve and develop within a trusted environment.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • Supporting the Head of People & Culture in delivering audit requirements.
  • Supporting Head of People & Culture in delivering Company specific projects and deadlines.
  • Ensuring that employees feel supported and are responded to in a timely manner.
  • Regular audits of HR database to ensure up to date and compliant.
  • Continually review policies and procedures to ensure opportunities for development and improvement across the HR aspect of the business are captured, proposed, and actioned where needed.
  • To ensure that polices and procedures are in line with current legislation.
  • To provide top level support on a day-to-day basis on employee issues, working with managers to guide and implement effective people management practices.
  • To lead innovations and improvements across the company.

RECRUITMENT (Direct and Agency)

  • Manage recruitment of staff from start to completion.
    Maintenance of Job descriptions.
  • Interviewing of candidates.
  • Liaise with Agencies ensuring that relationships are maintained.
  • Looking at cost effect and efficient ways of recruiting the most suitable and competent candidates.
  • Regular auditing of new starter paperwork, right to work checks, set up and inductions.
  • Continually review and maintain recruitment processes, implementing improvements where necessary.

ABSENCE

  • Absence management - weekly absence reporting and review.
  • Supporting the team leaders and supervisors in supporting employees with absence issues and how best to manage this effectively.
  • Absence meetings at all stages including disciplinary where appropriate.

            PAY

  • Skills and pay matrix to be maintained.
  • Regular benchmarking of factory roles and general knowledge of rates within manufacturing in the area.
  • Management of the appraisal process from start to finish.
  • Support Payroll department by providing necessary information in a timely manner ahead of processing.

    ​​    ​​​​​​​    Identify areas that would benefit from the apprenticeship scheme and available options.

  • Identify training needs within the factory and follow through to providing linked training, supporting the employee throughout.

    ​​​​​​​    RETENTION

  • Exit interviews.
  • Management of leaver process.
  • Staff well being

The ideal candidate would require

  • Minimum level qualification - CIPD L3 or equivalent, CIPD L5 preferred.
  • Proven experience in a HR management role within the manufacturing industry or similar
